Double Velcro fasteners give the L.E.X.BRACE durability while in play and allow it to be easily removed during timeouts or at the end of the game. The first fastener resides on the walls where the brace separates, allowing you to stick the brace together in the correct position before you attach the larger Velcro strip, which you can see in the photo.

The L.E.X.BRACE is not physically connected to the player's shoulders or helmet. This way, it does not constrict head movement, making gameplay easier than other braces.

The inclined inner surface of the brace captures the player's helmet, making it impossible to slip out. This ensures that the brace will always be effective, unlike roll-collar neck braces, which may slide out of position, greatly reducing their safety value.

The L.E.X.BRACE is covered with a smooth vinyl coating, which has a lower coefficient of friction than traditional materials, such as fabric. This means that the helmet glides along the surface of the brace rather than rubbing up against it, which would make it harder to move your head.

The brace's blade-like bottom edge results in ease of motion on the shoulder in the uncompressed (noncontact) state. These factors keep the brace from becoming intrusive to the player.

The high-density foam that fills the inside of the brace absorbs energy from impact and releases it into the player's shoulders.
